Ok, this recipe is definitely categorized under the “cheats” section of this blog. It is one of those “breakfasts” that is really more of a dessert. But, we’ve gotta live a little, right!?

Danielle’s Grain Free Granola
One thing I’ve become convinced of over the years is that healthy eating does not equal gross, boring or hard to do.

Our family travels a lot – no, I mean A LOT. So, over the past many years I have been looking for ways to eat very healthy, and greatly reduce my family’s amount of sugar intake at home. Continue reading “Sugar Free Chia Seed Jam”
Poached Egg on Toast with tomato, avocado and petite greens
It has become a yearly tradition for my best friend Tara to host a group of her girlfriends at her lake front cottage. Now, even though we are at the lake, this is certainly no “roughing it” type of weekend.Continue reading “Poached Egg on Toast with tomato, avocado and petite greens”
Liquid Reece’s Pieces Smoothie
Dan’s favorite flavor combo of all time is chocolate and peanut butter. When I first tried this smoothie at a friend’s house, I knew if I could get him to try this he’d devour it, but I also knew that he would refuse if he saw what it looked like (green usually equals yuck for him). Banana Walnut Pancakes
I once read “I can no more understand the totality of God than the pancake I ate for breakfast understands the complexity of me” (Donald Miller, Blue Like Jazz)

Mint Chip Smoothie
We just had American Thanksgiving (we call it that, because we are Canadians living in America, and we are used to celebrating in October). Having dual citizen kids, we try our best to celebrate both. We certainly have more than enough to be thankful for. Celebrating double means eating double too. That can take a toll on the waistline. I sure am feeling like I need a green smoothie and a good run. Perhaps you overdid it over the holidays too, and are in need of some redemption, let me help you with the smoothie part. Here is my favorite green smoothie recipe as of late. I’m a sucker for anything chocolate mint flavor. This is no mint-chip ice cream, but it sure comes close and it’s WAAAY better for you! If you’re not a green smoothie gal, give this one a try. It may convert you!
Muffin Medley
We all love muffins, but it’s safe to say that none of us want a “muffin top”. Here are three tasty, but waist friendly muffin recipes that I’ve been feeding my family for many years. Continue reading “Muffin Medley”

I am sure that for those of us with kids, getting more fruits and veggies into them is a priority in the kitchen. I’ll admit that when I have a yummy dip to dunk my apples in, it makes them much more smooth going down. Here are three delicious options for you. Continue reading “Fruit Dip – 3 Ways”
