Liquid Reece’s Pieces Smoothie

Dan’s favorite flavor combo of all time is chocolate and peanut butter. When I first tried this smoothie at a friend’s house, I knew if I could get him to try this he’d devour it, but I also knew that he would refuse if he saw what it looked like (green usually equals yuck for him). So, I told him to close his eyes and take a sip. He obeyed and it was a hit.  I said “why can’t you listen that well all the time!?” (kidding). Ever since, this recipe has been a morning mainstay, especially before workouts! This gives me the same “pick me up” feeling that a cup of Joe does, but it provides way more health benefits. The hubby will testify under oath that it truly does taste like you are sipping on liquid Reece’s Pieces! After I blended this up for it’s photo shoot, my photographer gave it to her preteen son, who downed it, and then asked “but, why is it green!?” It’s your choice if you want to give the secret away. My youngest is actually completely on board with the spinach and will even volunteer to throw handfuls of it into the blender. It seems men of all sizes enjoy this recipe! Winning!

3-4 C ice
2-3 C almond milk – as much as you need to blend smoothly
2 Tbsp chocolate protein powder
Half a banana
3 C baby spinach
2-4 tbsp peanut butter (to liking)

Blend all ingredients together in high powered mixer. Adjust ingredients according to your desired flavor intensity and ability to blend smoothly. Drink immediately – it won’t keep for long.

I learned a lot from my couch. Yes, it’s true. That awful, ginormous hunk of ugly that is my overly expensive Pottery Barn couch. It’s the color of poop and it sits in my living room as my daily reminder that the things of this world will never satisfy…and will

Lessons I Learned On Changing My Mind About Her

Let’s face it – girls aren’t always made of sugar and spice and everything nice. In fact, sometimes we can be downright mean. Other times we find ourselves caught up in competition with one another, being judgmental, bitter feelings, jealousy and insecurity. We Christian girls are good at hiding our
